About St. Simon Catholic School

school front

St. Simon School is a Catholic, coeducational school enrolling over 600 students in kindergarten through eighth grade from Los Altos and the surrounding communities. It operates under the guidance of the Catholic Diocese of San Jose and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA).

St. Simon School is located on the grounds of the St. Simon Parish complex, which includes the church, the rectory, the convent, the school facilities, an extended care facility and the multi-purpose center and gym. In addition to the gym, the multi-purpose center houses spacious meeting rooms, two new Kindergarten classrooms and athletic offices. (See map.)

The school facilities include a computer lab, library, music and science rooms, a playing field, playgrounds, indoor corridors and administrative offices.

In 1992, St. Simon School was identified as a "Blue Ribbon School of Excellence." This federally sponsored program recognizes outstanding public and private schools throughout the nation. These schools must excel in educational leadership, instruction and organization.
