St. Simon Altar Servers
Students in Grades 5-8 are invited to be altar servers. Recruitment takes place in the fall of Grade 5. Each student who is interested receives a handbook which explains all the requirements. Scheduled classes for training must be attended if a student chooses to join this parish ministry. After the students complete training, they are installed and then they are scheduled to serve Mass on a regular basis.
Criteria for Earning a St. Simon Block “S” Altar Server Award:
- has served for a minimum of 2 years
- has missed 3 or fewer assignments in one year
- has served graciously and willingly all scheduled Masses and weddings, funerals and special occasions
