During the school year, several fundraisers take place at St. Simon School. They include:
Magazine Drive: This drive is held in the month of September. Students are encouraged to sell or renew magazine subscriptions to support the school. Proceeds help to defray the cost of textbooks.
8th Grade Fundraiser: This event, which varies from year to year, is held to raise funds for the 8th grade gift to the school.
Walk-a-thon: The Walk-a-thon benefits the PAG Teacher Fund, which makes funds available for St. Simon teachers to enhance the curriculum in a variety of ways.
Student Council Fundraisers: These events, which may consist of Soda and Pretzel Sales, Guessing Contests, Bake Sales and the like, raise money for worthy causes such as the Missions and/or needy schools. The Student Council also sponsors Food Drives for St. Vincent De Paul.
PLG Auction and Rummage Sale: In some years, the Parish Life Group (PLG) organizes a Rummage Sale which is held in October, and an auction which is held in the spring. See the Parish Bulletin for details.
In addition to the above fundraisers at St. Simon, we benefit from several programs that earn money for our school and parish based on purchases that you make at participating businesses. You may be familiar with one or more of these programs from another school or parish.
No-Cost Fundraising: There are a number of programs which benefit St. Simon School at NO COST TO YOU!! These programs include eScrip, Box Tops for Education, and recycling printer cartridges. Please read more about the available programs and participate if you are able.
The details of the different programs can get confusing; we suggest beginning with the grocery store you patronize most often and using their fundraising program. Then you can investigate the others at your leisure to see what else makes sense for you. Don't forget that your family, friends and neighbors are welcome to sign up as well!
