Parent Advisory Group (PAG)

The Parent Advisory Group (PAG) serves as an advisory body, chartered to help support, guide and make recommendations to the educational process and programs in partnership with our pastor, principal, the administration, faculty, students, parents and parish members of St. Simon Community. The PAG welcomes ideas, suggestions, and contributions that enhance the educational process at St. Simon School.

PAG Meetings are open to St. Simon parents and parishioners. The meetings are held monthly during the academic year.

Duties and Functions of the PAG

The duties and functions of the St. Simon PAG are as follows:

  • To cooperate with and support the Pastor and School Administrator in his/her role as defined by Diocesan Guidelines.
  • To present recommendations to the Pastor and School Administrator regarding the operation of St. Simon School.
  • To create a better understanding and support of Catholic education and to act as a public relations group in making the work and achievements of St. Simon School better known to the entire parish and civic communities.
  • To analyse the school budget to determine if it realistically reflects the general financial and physical needs of the school and the financial capabilities of the families being served.
  • To recommend resources available for the development of educational programs.
  • To develop and review the school's five year plan or other plans.
  • To assist in the annual maintenance review of school buildings and grounds.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of the PAG on an annual basis, as well as the working relationship between the PAG and School Administrator.

Your Role as Parents

You can help the PAG in a number of ways. Please attend our monthly PAG meetings and participate in a PAG sub-committee. In addition, we welcome your feedback about the education and operation of St. Simon School. We welcome your recommendations on educational programs and any issue impacting the health and safety of our students and faculty. Please feel free to approach any PAG member directly or submit your questions, comments, or suggestionsvia email to PAG Co-Chair, Susan Noriega.

PAG Request for Consideration Form

Please use the PAG Request for Consideration form to submit a proposal for a project or program at St. Simon Parish School. Submit your request to the Principal, Steve Clossick and PAG Co-Chair, Susan Noriega for consideration. We will review your request and get back with you on your proposal.

How Do I Join the PAG?

The Pastor, School Administrator, and the PAG Co-Chairs select parent representatives from applications submitted each spring. The School Administrator selects faculty representatives. If you are interested in becoming a part of the PAG, please contact Mr. Clossick or a PAG board member.
