Fr. Tom Murray Memorial Basketball Tournament
The Fourth Annual Father Murray Basketball Tournament, held January 24-27, was another wonderful St. Simon event. Beginning with the pasta dinner, which gave the players and coaches a chance to meet and connect with each other, the tournament continued with great games and lots of spirit. Thank you to all of the dedicated volunteers who made this event a reality. Specials Thanks go to Sue Jarvis and Kerry Vermeer for coordinating this great sporting event.
We also thank our generous sponsors who underwrote the tournament. It was a wonderful way to honor Father Tom Murray who was a true inspiration to our parish. Tournament proceeds go to the St. Simon Athletic Department.

About the 2008 Tournament
The tournament begins with a welcome spaghetti dinner on Wednesday for all the teams and their coaches. The tournament kicks off on Thursday, January 24th at 4pm and continues through Sunday, January 27th.
Thursday and Friday game times: 4pm/5:15/6:30 and 7:45pm.
Saturday: 10 games starting at 8:45am/10am/11:15am/12:30pm/2pm/3:15pm,4:30pm/5:45pm/7:15pm/8:30pm.
Sunday: 6 games at 9:45am/11am/12:30pm/1:45pm/3:15pm (girls championship game) and 5pm (boys championship game).
Gourmet chef Howard Fish runs the snack bar, which has an incredible menu. This is not a regular snack bar: we have gourmet bbq pizza, Caesar salad, chicken teriyaki bowls, hamburgers, hotdogs, and Howard's famous three chip homemade cookies. It's a great family event and has built great community spirit. All proceeds go towards the St. Simon athletic department.
Admission is $3 adults, $2 students and seniors. (Children 4 and under are free.)

Previous Tournaments
Thank you to all the schools, coaches and players that have participated and to their families and friends who came to enjoy the games. We hope the tournaments have been a good experience for all and that you will participate in the tournament again.
